"The majority of Oregon's fossil reptiles are represented by aquatic animals such as turtles, crocodiles, plesiosaurs, and ichthyosaurs that lived, died, and were entombed in a variety of setting from lakebeds and shallow marine sands to offshore deep water. The few terrestrial reptilian fossils are limited to single occurrences of a dinosaur, a lizard, and a pterosaur." (Oregon Fossils, p. 138).
