Long Time

The exact number of years from Creation to the Flood is in question, due to various factors. One major difference arises due to which biblical manuscript is used as the source. The Hebrew Masoretic text (now used for most English translations of the Old Testament and originating after the apostles) would give a time duration between 1500 to 1600 years. The Greek Septuagint (LXX used earlier during the time of Jesus and the Apostles) adds nearly 600 years to that given in the Masoretic text.
